Around Jamaica

Once you have settled in, take the time to enjoy Jamaica. While in Jamaica Village explore the shops and marvel at the buildings that line Main Street some dating back to the 1780's.

The Town Hall is the cornerstone of the Village - the 1853 structure was orginally a church and is now used for Town Meetings and private events.

Stroll down towards Depot Street stop at the War Memorial, honoring our fallen residents from the Civil War to current conflicts.

Visit the Jamaica Memorial Library, find that perfect book.

Further down Depot Street is our Elementary School, the Jamaica Village School.

At the End of Depot Street is the Jamaica State Park, the 780 acre State Park has one of the hidden teasure of Vermont - Hamilton Falls.

If you are lucky stop by the Community Church on Thursdays visit the Jamaica Benefit; this organization has been in Jamaica since the early 1800's. Originally known as the Jamaica Ladies Benefit, the Benefit is responsible for many wonderful things around town from the initializing the first Old Home Day to the sidewalks in town!

Searching for your family line, stop by the Town Offices, our Town Clerk will be more than happy to let scroll through the records dating back to 1780! Check out the Town's Municipal Website.

Further north on Route 30/100 is the Village of Rawsonville, with a few more shops and the historic Rawsonville Schoolhouse.
