JAMAICA TOWN HALL PRESENTS...

...starts its 2010 Summer Concert Series with the smokey-sweet voice of Samira Evans

In New Orleans, a city known worldwide for its music, Samirah was one of its most popular jazz & blues vocalists. She first performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1990, and became a regular fixture as either a leader or featured vocalist for fourteen consecutive years. She has toured Europe, Asia, and both North and South America as a headliner, and shared stages with a multitude of legendary artists from B.B. King and James Brown, to New Orleans own Queen of Soul, Irma Thomas. She now resides in Brattleboro and has been performing at popular venues throughout New England.

Dana and Susan Robinson are two guitar-playing, banjo-frailing, fiddle-sawing, and harmony-singing interpreters of the American experience. Their unique blend of contemporary songwriting and traditional Appalachian music bring to their performances a deep understanding of Americas musical heritage.

The Summer Concert Series continues into September with the talented Phil Henry

Phil Henry is an award-winning singer-songwriter and music educator in Rutland, Vermont. He sings original, contemporary folk songs in coffeehouses, festivals, and house concerts across the Northeast. He has showcased on national stages such as the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and has won top honors in songwriting contests at the Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival and Vermont’s SolarFest. He has opened for folk notables such as Vance Gilbert, Rachel Bissex, and Cliff Eberhardt.

Joining Phil on stage will be Gary Moon on percussion and vocals!

Join us 7:30 PM on September 18th at the Jamaica Town Hall.




The Jamaica Town Hall is located on Main Street in Jamaica.
Admission to all the concerts is $10.00 per person
