Margie's Muse Handweaving & Gallery in the center of Jamaica Village opened in November 2001. It was born out of the need of owner and weaver Margaret Silvia to do something creative and healing for herself, and her desire to make a beautiful, peaceful oasis for herself and others.

After moving her looms and yarns into the shop space and collecting a few hand made items of artisan friends, others gravitated to the new home for creative expression, and now Margie's Muse showcases the hand made creations of over 100 artisans and crafters, aged 13 to 90.

Margaret sells her custom handwoven wool blankets, chenille throws and scarves, and other adornments for body and home, and an eclectic and unusual blend of items including glass work, quilts, hand hooked rugs, fine art paintings, clothing, and jewelry. The shop has become a treasure hunt that delights the senses and inspires creativity. Now carrying luscious hand dyed, hand spun, and natural and organic yarns for knitting, crocheting and weaving, as well as tools and equipment, and even some materials and tools for spinning. Individual knitting lessons available.  Beads, too!

The regular featured artist announcements display the wide variety of innovative folks who live in the area. The idea is to support the creative process, and Jamaica appears to have been a ready pocket for attracting and advancing spirit and imagination. One comment heard in the shop was "This is like Frog Hollow, only better". The tiny shop continues to excite and inspire those who visit, and there really is something for everyone. Come, be inspired!
